A Level Subject Information

The Sweyne Park Sixth Form offers a varied curriculum of 24 A Level subjects and four alternative vocational qualifications. All our courses are detailed via the links below.

The choice of which subjects to take in the Sixth Form is an important one, to which careful thought should be given, we provide full guidance to our applicants in this regard.

All our Year 11 pupils and external applicants are offered a Guidance Meeting with a senior member of staff in late January, and a separate evening event is held for external applicants to the Sixth Form before Easter.

We do our utmost to provide a curriculum which both challenges our applicants and raises their aspirations.

There are three routes through the Sixth Form. If a student achieves 38 points or more from their best eight GCSE subjects, they may study three A Levels across the two years. If they achieve 30 points from their best eight GCSE subjects they can study a combination of vocational subjects. If a student achieves between 30 and 38 points, their programme of study may include a combination of A Levels and vocational qualifications.

All students are offered the opportunity to complete an Extended Project Qualification.
