Open Evening

I wanted to say a massive “thank you” to everyone who supported our Open Evening last night.  We had over 400 of our pupils and Sixth Form students attend, all of whom made a hugely positive impression on our many visitors.  They were a real credit to you, themselves and fabulous ambassadors for the school.

Achievements Outside of School

We very much enjoy hearing about all the exciting things our pupils and students do outside of school.  We know that so many of them are involved in clubs and charities and make a fantastic contribution to our community.

If your son/daughter has something they would like to share, please do contact us on pupilservices@sweynepark.com, so that we can include a short article, and where possible, accompanying photographs in the Sweyne Park Times.

This can relate to a sporting success, charity work, a project they have been involved in or an interesting experience they would like to share.  We really do want to celebrate all the fantastic achievements of our pupils and students.  Thank you, in advance, for your support.

Driving and Parking Responsibility

We would like to make parents and carers aware of some important safety concerns regarding parking and driving around the school site, particularly in the bus bay area at the end of the school day.

This week, a number of safety concerns have been reported. The safety of our pupils and students is of the utmost importance, and we therefore ask all parents and carers to drive and park responsibly when dropping off or collecting children from school. Please take particular care at busy times and remain mindful of pupils and pedestrians in the area.

We would also like to remind parents and carers that parking is not available on the school site during or at the end of the school day unless prior arrangements have been made with us. This includes the bus bay area on Sir Walter Raleigh Drive. Please also note that the car park on Sir Walter Raleigh Drive is reserved for staff vehicles only. We kindly ask that these arrangements are respected to help us maintain a safe environment for all of our pupils and students.

We also place great value on our positive relationship with our neighbours and ask that you show care and consideration when parking on the surrounding roads. Please ensure that vehicles are parked safely and responsibly and do not cause an obstruction or block access to residents’ driveways.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and continued support in helping us to keep the school site and surrounding area safe for everyone.

And Finally….

Have a great weekend.

What do you do when you're not in school?

We would love to hear about your hobbies, interests and achievements...

If you have any stories and/or photos that you would like to share, please contact us at pupilservices@sweynepark.com

Congratulations Ellie!!

This weekend one of our Year 7 pupils. Ellie B, competed in the Zinc Gymnastics competition in Colchester.

Ellie’s hard work and dedication really paid off as she came 3rd out of 30 competitors.  Ellie scored an impressive:

6th on Floor,

3rd on Bars,

3rd on Beam

and 3rd overall.

This puts Ellie in the regional finals in November.

Congratulations Ellie, what a fantastic achievement.  We are very proud of you and wish you all the very best of luck in the regional finals.
