Arrangements for September 2026

As outlined in the recent letter from our Chair of Trustees, I am delighted to be taking up the role of Head of School at Sweyne Park School, working alongside Desi McKeown in his role as Chief Executive Officer of Rayleigh Schools Trust and Executive Headteacher.

Having served as Interim Headteacher since the beginning of the academic year, I am extremely proud to continue to lead Sweyne Park on a day‑to‑day basis and to build on the strong foundations already in place. I remain committed to high standards, inclusive values and a supportive learning environment where every pupil and student can thrive.

I look forward to continuing to work closely with pupils, staff and families as we move forward together.

Safeguarding

Yesterday, we received reports about a man approaching some of our pupils on the way home from school making inappropriate comments.

Thank you to those parents who alerted us to the matter, and you may want to speak to your child(ren) about how to handle this type of situation.

Year 11 Education Records Service

Further to Mrs Shangolis’ letter sent to Year 11 parents/carers earlier this week, I wanted to take the opportunity to explain that the Department for Education (DfE) has introduced a new Education Record app to support pupils with their post-16 transition.

This secure service allows pupils to access and share verified information—such as exam results and key learner details—directly from their phone when applying to colleges, Sixth Forms, or other training providers.

The app is optional and does not replace collecting results in person on results day, but it can help reduce paperwork and simplify enrolment.

Pupils will be supported to download and set up the app during tutor time next week.

Our Help Centre

I wanted to remind you that you can obtain help to access a number of online platforms that we use in school by visiting our Help Centre on our website, simply click the “Help” button on the top left-hand side of the home screen.

In particular, for anyone struggling to access Go4Schools, there is a very useful “how to” guide available. Alternatively you can click here and you will be directed to the relevant page for Go4Schools support.

Whilst our IT Team are always very happy to help with any technical queries, you will find answers to a lot of FAQs within the documents contained in our online Help Centre and so it is always worth a quick look before contacting us.

And Finally….

Enjoy the weekend.

Thomas E (year 9)

Thomas E (year 9) His football team ‘Leigh Ramblers Whites’ won the U14’s League Cup Final on Sunday.

Thomas was also chosen as Man of the Match by the match officials, for some epic saves during the game. Such a fantastic achievement for the boys.
