I hope you all had an enjoyable Easter break and were able to spend some quality time with family and friends.
It is hard to believe we are already in the Summer term and approaching the busy external examination period. With the first exams taking place next week, I would like to wish all of our Year 11 pupils and Year 13 students the very best of luck. We hope their hard work is rewarded with successful outcomes that help open the door to the next stage of their journey.
As exams begin, I would also like to remind you that schools have not been permitted to grant “study leave” for several years. This means pupils are expected to attend school as normal, joining lessons and/or revision sessions when they are not in an exam. Thank you in advance for your continued support with this.
As you know we have, this week, started the phased introduction of our new mobile phone policy. All pupils in the main-school, who choose to bring their phones into school, are now required to put them in their lockers before the start of the school day.
All lockers are covered by our CCTV cameras to ensure security. If there is a problem with your child’s locker then please do contact Pupil Services via pupilservices@sweynepark.com who will be very happy to assist. Thank you for your ongoing support with this.
On Friday 24th April, a group of our Year 7 pupils will be heading off to enjoy a weekend of outdoor activities at the PGL centre in Swindon.
The coach will be arriving at the Bus Bay around 2.30pm and so please can I ask parents and carers who are collecting their children from school not to park there on this day.
It would also help to ease congestion if you could, where possible, please avoid parking in Sir Walter Raleigh Drive on that afternoon. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.
I know that pupils are going to have a fantastic time and you will be able to find out more about the trip on our Facebook page in the coming few weeks.
Enjoy the weekend.
