Ready to Learn on Time

I wanted to remind you that when we return to school after the Christmas break, on Monday 5th January, we will be introducing our “Ready to Learn on Time” initiative to support punctuality across the school.

This means that all pupils and students must be at their lesson and ready to learn by 8.35am each morning. A movement bell will sound at 8.30am to help everyone get to their classrooms promptly.

Please also note a change to site access in the morning.

The bridal date entrance will be locked at 8.35am and the entrance on Cheapside West will be locked from 8.45am. Any pupils/students who arrive after this time will need to enter via the entrance on Sir Walter Raleigh Drive and sign in at Pupil Services.

Thank you, in advance, for your support with this initiative. As I have mentioned previously, punctuality ensures no learning time is missed, helps everyone start the day calmly, and improves focus for all pupils/students by reducing interruptions to lessons. Our aim is to keep the school community Ready, Respectful, and Safe every day.

Coming Soon…

I thought it might be helpful to provide you with a few key dates for your diary which are coming up over the course of the first half of the Spring term:

Monday 5th January                                    Year 14 Awards Evening

Thursday 22nd January                                Year 11 Parents’ Evening

Thursday 5th February                                 Year 7 Parents’ Evening

Tuesday 10th February                                Year 11 Post-Mock/Next Steps Evening

As always, we will provide further details for each event nearer the time.

Merry Christmas

On behalf of everyone here at Sweyne Park, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your support this year and to wish you all a happy, peaceful and relaxing Christmas break.

I hope you all enjoy spending time with your family and friends.

We will look forward to welcoming all our pupils and students back to school at the usual time of 8.35 am on Monday 5th January 2026 in full school uniform.

Kian ranked number one

Congratulations to Kian who entered the last swimming gala of the year looking to make a statement before the county championships that start in January.

He is now ranked no1 in certain events in his age group across all south east regions of the country.

What a fantastic achievement, we are all very proud of Kian.

What do you do when you're not in school?

We would love to hear about your hobbies, interests and achievements...

• Essex County Council is doing research into vaping among young people and would like to hear from parents and carers of 9-14 year olds. • We would like as many people as possible to complete this survey, whether they or their children vape or not. • The feedback will help us shape our future work around vaping in Essex.
If your child was unable to receive immunisation this week, eligible children and their parents can book appointments at our updated bookable catch-up clinics. 10/12/2025  16.00-20.00 Colchester 16/12/2025  16.00-20.00 Colchester 17/12/2025  12:00 -19:00 Chelmsford 29/11/2025 - 11:00 - 16:00 Billericay 06/12/2025 - 10:00 - 15:00 Harlow Library
