Use of Mobile Phones

Please can I remind you that pupils must not use their mobile phones for any reason during the school day.

If we receive a phone call from a parent/carer reporting that their child has called them, once the initial issue has been dealt with, there will be a sanction imposed for using a mobile phone during the day.

Please can I ask you to remind your child that if they need support they should see their Head of Year or, if they feel unwell, go to Pupil Services in the first instance who will assess them, liaise with their Head of Year and call you as necessary.

A Busy Term

As we approach the end of the Autumn Term I had a look back at all of the exciting trips, visits and enrichment opportunities we have, once again, been able to offer our pupils and students.

There have been almost too many to mention, and so listed below is just an example of some of the wonderful experiences our pupils and students have enjoyed since September:

  • Overseas trips to:
  • Berlin
  • Budapest
  • Strasbourg
  • Theatres visits
  • Geography Field Trips
  • The Harry Potter Studios Tour
  • Thorpe Park
  • Colchester Zoo
  • Paradox Museum
  • Williams Formula 1 Experience
  • University visits
  • Business Studies Workshop run by Ford Motor Company
  • Employability Day/Careers events

I am delighted to confirm that there will be many more similar opportunities on offer in the Spring term, of which you will be notified accordingly in advance.

Please do also keep an eye on the Trips, Visits & Events page on our website.

Winter Showcase

I wanted to take the opportunity to remind you that we will be holding our Winter Showcase Concert on Tuesday 16th December, starting at 6:00 pm.

The Concert will feature several soloists as well as regular ensemble groups such as the School Choir and the School Band.

This event provides a fantastic opportunity for the pupils and students to showcase their musical talent, and the evening is always enjoyed by both the performers and the audience.

If you would like to attend, tickets can be purchased via Scopay for £4 per person and collected from Pupil Services at the end of the day.

We hope to see you there to really kick start the Christmas holiday period!

Christmas Jumper Day

I just wanted to provide you with a final reminder that the Autumn term will finish at 12.30 pm on Friday 19th December, with pupils and students encouraged to wear a Christmas Jumper over their usual school uniform for a donation to our nominated charities.

And Finally…..

Have a lovely weekend.

Notice: Choir Rehearsals

Choir rehearsals will take place every Monday and Tuesday during form time in MU2 with Mrs. Hutton. These sessions will continue until January.
Please make sure to attend promptly.

Meeting Southend United football team

Charlie was excited to tell us all about it, and we are thrilled to celebrate this special moment with him.

• Essex County Council is doing research into vaping among young people and would like to hear from parents and carers of 9-14 year olds. • We would like as many people as possible to complete this survey, whether they or their children vape or not. • The feedback will help us shape our future work around vaping in Essex.
If your child was unable to receive immunisation this week, eligible children and their parents can book appointments at our updated bookable catch-up clinics. 10/12/2025  16.00-20.00 Colchester 16/12/2025  16.00-20.00 Colchester 17/12/2025  12:00 -19:00 Chelmsford 29/11/2025 - 11:00 - 16:00 Billericay 06/12/2025 - 10:00 - 15:00 Harlow Library
