Road Safety

Given that the clocks have now gone back and that the nights are already getting darker much earlier, please can I ask you to spend some time discussing the importance of road safety with your children.

Pupils should not assume they have been seen by drivers and, where possible, should always cross at designated crossing points.

Children coming to school on bikes, should take care and remember how important it is to wear a helmet.

Can I also take the opportunity to ask you to remind them about always being respectful when cycling, and to be considerate to pedestrians and other road users.  Thank you!

And Finally…..

Have a lovely weekend

Strasbourg Adventure – A Trip to Remember!

Early on Wednesday morning, we met at Rayleigh station at 5.00am, loaded our luggage onto the coaches and began our long journey to Strasbourg. After crossing the Eurotunnel and travelling through France, we finally arrived and checked into our hotels. We had dinner together before Miss Wadie and Mrs Taylor went through the plans for the days ahead, everyone then got some well earned rest after a long days travelling. A special mention goes to Mrs Taylor for fixing our blinds – what a hero!

The next day started with breakfast before heading into Strasbourg for a treasure hunt around the city’s landmarks. Afterwards we enjoyed some free time for shopping and lunch, followed by a boat trip along the river. Later we visited a chocolate factory where we saw how the chocolate was made, sampled some of their chocolate and browsed the shop. The day ended with a meal at a local restaurant where we tried traditional Tarte Flambee.

The following day, we travelled into Germany, spending the morning in the town of Titisee before heading on an incredible cable car ride through the black forest. After returning to the hotel for dinner, we finished the evening with a fun quiz night.
On our final full day, we visited Colmar in the morning for some sightseeing and souvenir shopping, then crossed into Germany again to explore Freiburg’s cathedral and enjoy a short guided tour. That evening, we had our last dinner together and packed ready home.

On the final day after breakfast, we checked out of the hotel and boarded the coach for the long journey back. Despite some delays at the Eurotunnel, Mrs Castle kept everyone entertained as our amazing DJ! We finally arrived back at Rayleigh station – tired but full of amazing memories.

None of it would have been possible without our amazing teachers. Who made the trip so enjoyable and truly memorable!

Lily auditioned for Annie the Musical

In September, Lily took on an exciting challenge – auditioning for Annie the Musical at the Towngate Theatre in Basildon. The audition was no easy task; she had to sing, dance, and act. But Lily gave it her all, and three weeks later, the fantastic news arrived: she had landed the prestigious role of Principal Dancer!

From then on, Lily spent her weekends in rehearsals, working hard to perfect every routine. All that dedication paid off when she finally stepped onto the stage last week. Her performance was incredible, and she loved every single moment of being part of the show.

Here’s a backstage photo of Lily in one of her fabulous costumes – a memory from an unforgettable experience!
