Sixth Form Student Leadership Team

I am delighted to share that after a gruelling application and interview process, we have, this week,  appointed our Sixth Form Student Leadership Team for 2025/2026.

The successful students are: Ethan Hr, Ava H, Lily P, Harrison J, Freya T, Freya B, Ethan G and Ellis L. I am sure they will do a fantastic job building upon the success of their predecessors and many congratulations to them all.

Online Safety

One of the most significant online safety risks facing children is sexual extortion.  This is frequently financially motivated, and is often targeted at boys.  The number of reports to police is continuing to increase, showing that this is a growing problem.  CEOP have produced a guide for parents, which I would urge you to read: ceopeducation.co.uk/parents/articles/FMSE

“Adolescence”

The Netflix series ‘Adolescence” has raised the issue of online misogyny, and the disturbing content children are exposed to online.  This is a world that adults often have very little knowledge of, so Internet Matters have produced a useful guide to online misogyny: What is misogyny? Guidance for parents and carers | Internet Matters

Research Project Event

On Wednesday evening we held our annual Poster Conference where pupils and students from all year groups showcased their research projects completed as part of their EPQ, HPQ and FPQ qualifications.

Their research covered such a wide and varied range of fascinating topics and everyone was rightly impressed by the quality and high standard of work on display.

Well done to everyone involved and many thanks to Dr Clements for her ongoing leadership of this area of school life.

Shakespeare Week

To celebrate Shakespeare Week, we’re diving deeper into some of the sayings that originated from the Bard himself. Many of which we still use today. Additionally, we’re having some fun with a few of his more creative insults!

Also, pupils were challenged to determine which sayings come from Shakespeare & which come from Batman in our The Bard or the Bat? display in the Library!

What do you do when you're not in school?

We would love to hear about your hobbies, interests and achievements...

If you have any stories and/or photos that you would like to share, please contact us at pupilservices@sweynepark.com
