Achievements Outside of School

We very much enjoy hearing about all the exciting things our pupils and students do outside of school.  We know that so many of them are involved in clubs and charities and make a fantastic contribution to our community.

If your son/daughter has something they would like to share, please do contact us on pupilservices@sweynepark.com, so that we can include a short article, and where possible, accompanying photographs in the Sweyne Park Times.

This can relate to a sporting success, charity work, a project they have been involved in or an interesting experience they would like to share.

We really do want to celebrate all the fantastic achievements of our pupils and students.

Thank you, in advance, for your support.

Celebrating the National Year of Reading 2026

We’re delighted to mark the start of the National Year of Reading with an exciting milestone for our Year 7 pupils. This week, every student received their free Bookbuzz book — a wonderful way to launch a year dedicated to reading for pleasure.

Back in the autumn term, pupils explored a wide and varied selection of titles offered through the BookTrust Bookbuzz scheme. Each student chose a book that sparked their interest, and it has been fantastic to see their enthusiasm as the books were finally handed out.

This is a wonderful way to keep the buzz — and the love — for reading going. Pupils can continue exploring their chosen stories and discover even more, as all of the Bookbuzz titles are available to borrow from the school library.

We look forward to a year filled with stories, imagination, and a growing love of reading across our school community.#goAllIn

The Healthy Schools Team

The Healthy Schools team are conducting research to better understand children and young people’s habits when it comes to hydration. As part of this work, we are keen to identify the challenges parents face when encouraging water consumption with children.

Their objective is to develop a resource campaign that supports both parents and schools.

We want to encourage parents to help their children adopt water-only habits before they begin school.

Parents – Hydration survey for Parents  – Fill in form

• Essex County Council is doing research into vaping among young people and would like to hear from parents and carers of 9-14 year olds. • We would like as many people as possible to complete this survey, whether they or their children vape or not. • The feedback will help us shape our future work around vaping in Essex.
