Open Evening – 18th September 2025

We are holding our annual Open Evening on Thursday 18th September from 6.00pm to 8.30pm.

As we have done in previous years, in order to allow staff to prepare for the event, school will finish at 12.30pm on that day.

We are very grateful to the huge number of pupils and students who have already volunteered to help out as Tour Guides, Parking Attendants or Departmental Helpers.  If your child would like to be involved, but does not yet have a role, please do encourage them to speak to their Head of Year.  As always, our pupils/students are our greatest ambassadors.

We will welcome all pupils and students back to school at the usual time of 8.35 am on Friday 19th September.

Free School Meals

As you may be aware, parents on low incomes, and receiving certain benefits, are entitled to claim Free School Meals for their child(ren). Full details, and an application form, are available online at www.essex.gov.uk/free-school-meals.

Alternatively, if you think you may be eligible, but want to find out more, please do ring Pupil Services at the school, and they will be happy to advise you and help with an application. If your claim is successful, a set amount will be credited to your child’s account in our cashless catering system, which ensures anonymity. It is well worth having – even if your child only uses it to buy a drink/snack to supplement a packed lunch!
