Summer Concert

On Tuesday evening we hosted our annual Summer Concert and many thanks to everyone who came along to support.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend myself, but I am reliably informed that it was a fantastic evening and involved many pupils and students from across the whole age range, including some of our Year 11s and Year 13s who returned especially to take part.

There was a wonderful variety of different performances, ranging from soloists to ensembles to musical theatre! The event was also superbly supported by our pupils and students working behind the scenes as part of the technical & lighting/backstage crew.

What a great team effort!

Staffing Update – September 2025

This year we will be saying goodbye to:

  • Mr Smith – Learning Environment Leader
  • Mrs Pemberton – Associate Deputy Headteacher
  • Mrs Gosling – Teacher of Maths
  • Mrs Courts – Teacher of Drama
  • Mr Hawkings – Teacher of Science

Other than Mrs Courts, who is moving on to exciting new adventures, the other members of staff will all be starting their very well-deserved retirement.

It is remarkable that between them they have contributed 105 years to Sweyne Park School!!!

They will all  be sorely missed and we wish them all the very best for the future.

I would also like to remind you that we will be welcoming the following new members of staff to Sweyne Park from September 2025:

  • Ms James – Teacher of Maths
  • Ms Dare – Teacher of Design & Technology
  • Ms Jeffries – Teacher of Science

I am sure that the pupils and students will give them all a very warm welcome when they return to school.

Start of Term Arrangements

I would like to take the opportunity to remind you that on Tuesday 2nd September 2025 we will welcome our new Year 7 pupils and our Year 12 students to Sweyne Park.

From Wednesday 3rd  September 2025 the school will be open at the usual time of 8.35 am to all other year groups.

And Finally

It is with great sadness that I am saying farewell to you today.  It has been an absolute privilege and pleasure to have been part of this very special school for the last 15 years and I will take with me many very happy memories.

I wish all the pupils and students the ongoing success and happiness they deserve in their futures.

Thank you for your unstinting support over the years.

I do hope that you will all have a wonderful summer and enjoy spending some time with your family and friends.

What do you do when you're not in school?

We would love to hear about your hobbies, interests and achievements...
