Advance Notice - Change to Lunch Times

In order to assist the smooth running of the external examinations we will be changing the order in which pupils have lunch from Monday 12th May.  Thereafter and for the remainder of this  academic year, the pattern will run as follows:

Lunch 1               12.30 pm – 1.00 pm                   Years 10 and 11

Lunch 2               1.00 pm – 1.30 pm                     Year 7 as normal

Lunch 3               1.30 pm – 2.00 pm                     Years 8 and 9

This will mean that Year 11 pupils can have their lunch in plenty of time to be ready to start afternoon            examinations at 1.15pm.  This earlier start will also mean that in the vast majority of cases pupils will be able to take their usual form of transport home.

Pupils will be made aware of these changes over the course of next week via assemblies and tutor times.

Social Media content

It is always worth reminding your children to be mindful of what they chose to post on social media platform, such as Tik Tok.

Photographs of them in their school uniform, particularly if taken on the school site, can easily identify where they live and may result in attracting unwanted attention.

If your children are concerned about contact they receive on social media, please encourage them to speak to you and/or a member of staff at school.

As ever we would always encourage you to regularly check your child’s phone and to ensure that their privacy settings are appropriate.

Charity Week

This week our Sixth Form students have been running various events to raise money for their chosen charities, which this year are: MIND, Equal People Performing Arts and Breast  Cancer awareness.

Today saw many of our students and staff dress up for Movie Stars Day and I hope you enjoy seeing a selection of photographs which reflect the efforts made and fun had.

And Finally

Enjoy the extra day this weekend.

Essex Cup Champions! 🏆💙

What a moment to remember! Our sixth form girls entered the Essex Cup Netball competition for the very first time—and they WON!

In an incredibly close and competitive final, the team secured victory by just one goal, earning the title of Essex Cup Plate Champions. What an outstanding achievement!

I’m beyond proud of every single one of the girls. Their dedication, determination, and team spirit were clear to see—not just on finals day, but throughout the entire season.

A huge thank you to former student Kiera D for helping manage the team on the day, and to Gina Dfor taking on the all-important role of scorekeeper. Your support made a real difference!

These girls have been true stars over the past 6–7 years, giving so much to our school both on and off the court. As we say goodbye to some of our incredible Year 13s, a special mention goes to Ruby M —a standout player whose commitment and leadership have been truly inspiring. Thank you, Ruby, and best of luck in all your future netball ambitions!

What an unforgettable five days in Spain!

Our girls were an absolute credit to the school—showing talent, determination, and team spirit throughout. The netball was of an exceptional standard, and we are proud to share that our teams placed 2nd, 4th, 4th, and 5th overall!

A special congratulations goes to Kaitlin D and Amelia S from Year 11, who were spotted by a member of England Netball and invited to attend a training session with Pulse Netball—an incredible opportunity and well-deserved recognition of their talent!.

So many incredible memories were made, new skills developed, and friendships formed. It truly was a fantastic experience from start to finish.

Well done to all of our teams—you’ve made us proud! 💙
