Please can I ask that you remind your child(ren) of the importance of ensuring their privacy settings are set appropriately on all social media platforms. As a general rule, our advice is that they should only share information with people they know, and should not accept requests from people that they do not know. In order to protect themselves, it is vital that they do not share any inappropriate or indecent content online or with anyone, even friends. Taking/distributing images of other pupils/students within and/or outside of school that, on the balance of probability, are likely to upset/ offend/humiliate is a serious breach of our Behaviour Policy. You can always review our E-safety and Acceptable Use of IT Policy and our Behaviour Policy, on our website, and I would be grateful if you could discuss these with your child(ren).
Year 9 First Give Final
On Wednesday evening we held our First Give Final for Year 9. Five teams presented to an audience of family members, charity representatives and judges, all competing to win the £1,000 grant money for their charity. All groups were fantastic and presented superbly, with Dylan and Paige picking up special commendations from the judges for their presentation skills. In the end, the judges chose the team representing 9R1, meaning that their charity, “Wish”, will receive the £1,000. “Wish” is a women’s mental health charity, and the money will help them to continue to provide their services at a time when demand has never been higher. The evening was truly uplifting and all pupils involved did themselves, and our school, proud.
