Issue 964: 22nd April 2022

Welcome Back

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, in the Spring sunshine.  Now that the weather appears to be getting warmer, please could I ask for your support in reminding your children that full school uniform, including a school jumper, must be worn in all communal areas. Pupils may, of course, ask permission to remove their jumper in classrooms should they feel the need.  As in all previous years, this is reviewed after the May half-term holiday.

Friday 29th April 2022

As I have previously advised, on Friday 29th April, the school will be closed to allow staff to enjoy the benefit of the additional Bank Holiday in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee, which falls within the next half-term break.

Pupil Absence

Just a quick reminder that if your child is unwell or unable to attend school, you must let us know first thing in the morning of their absence.  You can either call the dedicated Pupil Absence line on 01268  780293 or send us an email via

Lawrence Year 11 - Car Boot Organiser

Design and Technology GCSE Project

As part of my Design and Technology GCSE project, I decided to pick Outdoor Living as part of my chosen theme.

I completed some research and chose to make a car boot organiser. The storage product will allow items to be stored in a car boot with the additional option to use outside of the car, pulling your items with you.

For the assessment I made a model to comply with size limits. I really enjoyed documenting the project and making the model. I would like to do a similar course next year hopefully taking A Level Product Design here at Sweyne Park.
