Relationship, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) Policy

Having previously consulted on this policy, we have recently updated it. A copy of the policy is available on our website.  In line with the guidance from the Department for Education, we would like to consult with you as parents and carers, once again, on the amendments.  I would be grateful if you would take the time to complete a very short form to provide us with your feedback.  The form is very simple, and will only take 2 – 3 minutes of your time.  Thank you in advance for your time and support of this important area of school life.

COVID related absence

Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, like many local schools, we have seen a rise in the number of positive cases of COVID-19.  This is having an impact on the attendance of both pupils and staff and most significantly, on the number of lessons we are having to cover.  We are doing everything we can to keep all pupils in school, but I do feel that I need to forewarn you of the possibility that we may have to implement our contingency plan, and ask some year groups to work remotely should the situation worsen.  This will be a last resort and we remain hopeful that we can get to the Easter holidays and benefit from a two week “circuit break”.

Free School Meals

As you may be aware, parents on low incomes, and receiving certain benefits, are entitled to claim Free School Meals for their child(ren). Full details, and an application form, are available online at www.essex.gov.uk/free-school-meals. Alternatively, if you think you may be eligible, but want to find out more, please do ring Pupil Services at the school, and they will be happy to advise you and help with an application. If your claim is successful, a set amount will be credited to your child’s account in our cashless catering system, which ensures anonymity. It is well worth having – even if your child only uses it to buy a drink/snack to supplement a packed lunch!
