Issue 947: 19th November 2021

Snow Closure

Hopefully we will not have to contend with any snow in the immediate future. Nonetheless, it is getting colder, and so I thought it appropriate, for the benefit of new parents/carers, to provide an update on our snow closure procedure, in the unlikely event that we have to close the school. If we do have to make this difficult decision, we aim to post this on our school website by 7.40am (a reminder also that you may need to click the “refresh” button on our website to ensure the information is updated). You may also visit the Essex County Council website:

(or just search for: Essex County Council Emergency School Closures), as local radio stations no longer routinely broadcast this information.  As we have embraced the new world of technology due to the periods of school closure, “snow days” as we know them will be a thing of the past, and pupils and students will be able to access remote learning in the event that we have to take the decision to close the school!

Face Coverings on Public Transport

Essex County Council, in conjunction with Essex Highways, has asked us to remind you to please continue to encourage your child(ren) to wear face coverings whilst travelling on public transport.  Essex CC is concerned that due to the inevitable number of seasonal health issues, and with Christmas approaching, it is vital that we do all we can to protect our community. Thank you for your support.
