Vaccinations

On Monday and Tuesday of this week, the School Aged Immunisation Service (SAIS) came into school to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to those pupils for whom parents/carers had provided consent. In the event that you did consent to the vaccine, but your child was absent from school, we have been notified that there is a catch-up programme in place for later this year.  At this time, we do not have the full details, and we do not know whether these will be offered in school or via a Community Hub.  As soon as we have further information, I will let you know.

Lateral Flow Tests

I would like to thank everyone who has been encouraging their child(ren) to take the twice weekly Lateral Flow Tests (LFT).   Please can I remind you that the results should be registered via TestRegister.  Thereafter, please call us, or email us at admin@sweynepark.com, to report the results of the PCR test, and confirm the period of self-isolation.  It remains crucial that the regular programme of testing continues, so that we can identify asymptomatic cases and help to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 amongst our pupils, staff and the wider community.   We have a plentiful supply of LFT kits which pupils and students can collect from Pupil Services.  If you have any technical issues accessing TestRegister, please contact our IT Team on support@sweynepark.com, and they will be happy to help.  Finally, a polite reminder that if your child is displaying any of the three main COVID-19 symptoms, they must not come into school, and should self-isolate pending the results of a PCR test, which should be taken as soon as possible.

Uniform

Please can I remind parents and carers to ensure that their child(ren) is wearing the correct uniform, including a school jumper, in accordance with our Uniform Policy.  Pupils and students should not be wearing coats inside the building, which should be left in lockers rather than taken into classrooms.

Ventilation remains one of the most important mitigation measures that we as a school can put in place to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  Given that the weather does seem to be changing, please can you encourage your child(ren) to dress appropriately, with additional under layers as may be necessary, as we will be ensuring that the windows are open in classrooms to assist with air circulation.  Thank you for your ongoing support.

And Finally …

Have a lovely weekend!
