COVID-19 Update

As you will have heard, schools will maintain the responsibility for identifying close contacts up to and including the 18th July 2021. From the 19th July, the NHS Track & Trace will take over this role from schools. As has always been the case, if your son/daughter is identified as a close contact, before 19th July, we will email you with details of any necessary period of isolation. Therefore, please can I ask that you continue to keep an eye on your emails, even over the weekend. However, on a more optimistic note, if we continue along the Government’s roadmap to recovery, from 16th August only pupils who test positive themselves will need to self-isolate. This will be incredibly positive in terms of minimising the disruption to education.

End of Term Arrangements

As we near the end of this academic year, I would like to confirm that, as in previous years, we will be finishing at 12.30pm on the last day of term, Tuesday 20th July.

Start of Term Arrangements

The latest Government announcement included the requirement for secondary school pupils/students to carry out two Lateral Flow Tests, 3 – 5 days apart before pupils/students are back in school.  I will confirm the final details relating to return dates and the programme for mass testing before the end of term, as well as how the imminent lifting of COVID-19 restrictions will shape the new academic year.

Year 10 Prefects Assembly

After a rigorous application and interview process, our new prefects for 2021 – 2022 have been appointed and received their badges and ties today. This is always a special occasion, where we can recognise and reward pupils for their excellent approach to learning and wider contribution to school life. I know that they will all be incredibly positive role models, and that their parents/carers will be extremely proud. Let’s hope that next year we will be in a position to, once again, invite parents/carers to these celebratory events.
