Issue 918: 5th February 2021

Thank You

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for all the support and time you have given to your children during this period of remote learning. I do not under-estimate the challenges and difficulties this brings, and, we are all very impressed with the level of engagement and maturity that the majority of our pupils and students have shown in adapting to this new way of working. I do, of course, recognise that it has certainly not been easy for everyone and, if you do feel that your children may need some additional support, please do contact their Head of Year.

Thank you also for all the wonderful messages of support we have received, and for the feedback in relation to volume of work, length of lessons etc. We really do take your feedback seriously, and it is invaluable in terms of helping us to ensure we provide the best educational offer that we can, while being mindful of the importance of ensuring the emotional and mental wellbeing of our pupils.

Half-Term Holiday

As we approach the end of this half-term, I wanted to remind parents/carers that the school will be closed over the half-term break, this includes for keyworker and vulnerable pupils. We will be open again for those pupils from Monday 22nd February. If your son/daughter does fall into one of these categories and/or your circumstances change, then please contact Mr Bradley on rbradley@sweynepark.com.

Book of the Week

LAST ONE TO DIE
by Cynthia Murphy(YA)

“Niamh is excited to be in London for the summer – she’s worked hard to get on the drama school programme. But as soon as she arrives, a girl is murdered.

Young women are being attacked all over the city…..and they all look like her.

Who can she trust? Who is watching her? Will she be next?

Will she be the last one to die?”

With history and the supernatural interwoven into the plot, this is a fast-paced and exciting thriller with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing.

The 7th of February is British Yorkshire pudding Day!
