Community Responsibility

Unfortunately, we have had a number of complaints from local residents of a very small minority of our pupils congregating in groups outside of businesses and in parks in the local area. Please can I ask that you remind your son/daughter that they must not be socialising with other people, and that, other than for exercise, they should stay at home. This will help to control the pandemic and keep our community safe. Thank you in advance for your support.

Thursday 21st January 2021

We will be holding our virtual Year 8 Parents’ Evening on Thursday 21st January, from 4.00 pm to 6.30pm. Given that many teachers will be preparing for 30+ online meetings with parents/carers, it may be that on that day, pupils will be set more lessons via Show My Homework. This may be a good day to tune into the new BBC Bitesize Daily programmes available on the Red Button from 9am – 11am and again on BBC iPlayer. Thank you for your understanding with this.

Run The Month

Ellis, Year 8, and his dad are running 26.2 miles throughout January for prostate cancer, a charity close to our family’s heart, as both Ellis’s grandads have suffered with and been successfully treated for this disease. They are currently on 21 miles so they plan on carrying on running throughout the month to see how far they can go! His sister, Lily, has also been out on a couple of runs with them.

If you would like to make a donation the link below will take you to his fundraising page.

Book of the Week

by Patrice Lawrence (YA)

“Becks and Silva live under the same roof, but they couldn’t be less like sisters.

Becks likes watching loud superhero movies, girls and chatting to anyone and everyone. Silva likes privacy; her bedroom is her oasis, and she has an unspoken rule that none of her family are allowed inside.

But then Silva goes missing. Becks enters Silva’s room and finds eight clues about Silva’s secret life.”

A gripping and intense mystery, rooted in family, friendships & relationships, as Becks is desperate to find her missing sister.
