A Busy Term

As we approach the end of the Autumn Term I had a look back at all of the exciting trips, visits and enrichment opportunities we have, once again, been able to offer our pupils and students.

There have been almost too many to mention, and so listed below is just an example of some of the wonderful experiences our pupils and students have enjoyed since September:

  • Geography Field trips
  • A trip to Budapest
  • Visit to the Harry Potter Studios
  • Thorpe Park trip
  • Visit to Bletchley Park
  • Visit to the Centre for Military Archaeology
  • University visits
  • Business Studies Workshop run by Ford Motor Company
  • Employability Day/Careers events
  • Theatre trips
  • Visit to Chelmsford Cathedral
  • Numerous sporting festivals and tournaments
  • Chemistry Mastermind competition

I am delighted to confirm that there will be many more similar opportunities on offer in the Spring term, of which you will be notified accordingly in advance.

Please do also keep an eye on the Trips, Visits & Events page on our website.

Year 11 Mock Examinations

Congratulations to our Year 11 pupils who this week sat their mock examinations.

I am very proud to say that the pupils really understood the importance of these exams and conducted themselves with great maturity.

Pupils will receive their results at the beginning of the Year 11 Parents’ Evening on Thursday 23rd January where they will, of course, have the opportunity to discuss their performance with their teachers.

Online Safety

Essex Police have launched a new Sort Your Settings campaign.

It provides parents and carers with essential safeguarding advice on making online devices safer for children. The refreshed webpage now includes up-to-date information about new and popular online games and social media platforms.

There is a step-by-step guide and advice on all aspects of online safety, including how to access parental controls, social media age restrictions, game age ratings, chat settings.  Please find the link below:

Christmas Jumper Day

I just wanted to provide you with a final reminder that the Autumn term will finish at 12.30 pm on Thursday 19th December, and will be a non-school uniform day, with pupils and students encouraged to wear a Christmas Jumper for a donation to our nominated charities.

Please can I ask that you remind your children that they must ensure they are dressed appropriately for the school environment and the cold weather.  Thank you for your support.

Cinderella at Queens Theatre,

Last week, our Year 7 & 8 Pupils had an incredible time attending Cinderella at the Queens Theatre, Hornchurch! Not only was the performance magical, but our students truly were a credit to the school, displaying exemplary behavior and enthusiasm throughout.

A particular highlight was meeting the talented cast after the show

We’d like to extend a massive thank you to the amazing team of teachers and support staff who made this trip possible.

Your hard work and dedication ensured it was a memorable experience for all..
