We are always interested to hear about all the exciting things our pupils and students do outside of school. We know that so many are involved in clubs and charities and contribute greatly to the wider community. If your son/daughter has something they would like to share, please do drop us an email to pupilservices@sweynepark.com, so that we can include a short article in the Sweyne Park Times, accompanying photos are always welcome! This can relate to a sporting event, charity work, a project they have been involved in or an interesting experience they would like to share. The Sweyne Park Times is a great forum in which to celebrate all the fantastic successes and achievements of our pupils and students. Thank you, in advance, for your support.
We are very proud to offer a wide range and variety of extra-curricular clubs, including football, basketball, netball, pottery, drama, history and MFL films. We have revamped our clubs schedule to make it easier to see all the exciting options available, and please click here to view the list which will be kept updated on a termly basis.
Pupils should speak to the Head of the Department of the relevant subject/club for any further information. Please do encourage your son/daughter to go along and participate.
From next week, the Bridle Gate will remain open until after these clubs have finished to allow pupils using this route to get home more easily.
We are holding our annual Open Evening on Tuesday 26th September, from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. As we have done on previous occasions, in order to allow staff to prepare for the event, school will finish at 12.30pm on that day. We will welcome all pupils and students back to school at the usual time of 8.35 am on Wednesday 27th September.
After the short spell of incredibly high temperatures the forecast shows a return to more seasonally normal weather moving forwards. From Monday 18th September, pupils will be expected to wear full school uniform which includes a school jumper. As a reminder, pupils are not permitted to wear white socks, any knee length socks, non-stud earrings or rings. Please click here to view full details of our expectations.
Many thanks to all of the parents/carers who came to the Year 11 Welcome Event on Tuesday evening. It was very well attended and an indication of the engagement of our parent/carer community. I hope that you found it helpful and informative in understanding what is involved in this particularly important year and how, as parents/carers, you can support your son/daughter in the lead up to their external examinations.
Whilst there are external examinations in Years 11 and 13, all years in education are important and I would therefore encourage all parents/carers to attend any relevant “Welcome to…” event or information evening for their child(ren). For your information, coming soon are:
