COMPUTER NETWORK TIME
Pupils are given the opportunity to design and create work through a variety of tasks. Two-thirds of the course is spent on the school computers, learning about all the major up-to-date software applications: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics, powerpoint, web page design and desktop publishing. Many other computer packages are experienced, including computer aided design, programming and data logging. CDs are explored and the Internet extensively accessed. Scanners and digital cameras can be used by students to create professional looking presentations.
Pupils may advance their skills in an interest of their choosing, and direct this interest towards one of the two coursework assignments that are required. The coursework plays a very important part in the overall grade, and students must be prepared to work independently and to a given deadline.
