Stephenson’s buses will also replace First buses at 3 p.m. The late bus leaving school at 4 p.m. will also run as normal.

All services are likely to be affected throughout the day. First have said that they:
“Will endeavour to run whatever services we can but it is likely that our customers will need to make alternative travel arrangements”.

Uniform Supply Problems
Wards contacted us on Thursday 27th August to say that they expect orders of ties and jumpers to arrive by Tuesday. However, in the meantime, Danielle's at 30 Main Road, Hockley SS5 4QA (Tel 01702 202005) will be able to provide some school jumpers from this afternoon onwards. The school will also be able to loan ties to pupils free of charge when they arrive at school if Wards have not been able to honour their commitment. We apologise for this very unexpected inconvenience. We fully understand that there may be some pupils without full school uniform on the first day back and they should not feel anxious about this. However, we do of course expect pupils to be wearing black trousers/skirts, blue shirts and black shoes when they come to school.

Uniform Supply Problems
We learned on Tuesday (18th August) that the shop that sells our school uniform, 'Wards' may be closing down. We contacted Head Office as a matter of urgency and hope to have definitive information by middle of next week and will post an update on the website accordingly.
In the meantime, the shop still holds ties / PE kit etc. so our advice is to purchase these as normal and the company have assured us that any outstanding school jumper orders are being given priority.
More details will follow as we are made aware of progress on outstanding orders.
New government statement issued on Thursday 2nd July is:
"Our policy on schools is that they should not close because of individual cases of swine flu but they could close if the particular local circumstances warranted it. For example, there may be grounds for closure if a significant number of pupils or teachers are ill, or if it is a special school with particularly vulnerable pupils. The HPA will advise on outbreak control issues as usual and closures would be reported to the Department for Children, Schools and Families."
